We didn’t start SWEATSCAPE for the trend.

We started it to save ourselves.

We didn’t start sauna and cold plunging because it was trendy. We started because we were both trying to keep our heads above water.

After our second baby was born, I was deep in postpartum anxiety - though I didn’t fully recognize it at first. I was exhausted, constantly overwhelmed, and the smallest things would set me off. My toddler spilling water. My husband forgetting to take the trash out. And when the baby wouldn’t nap? I’d feel this rage bubble up that honestly scared me.

I knew I didn’t feel like myself. I just didn’t know how to get myself back.

There’s nothing wrong with medication—it can be a lifesaver for so many people. But I wanted to try supporting my body and mind in other ways first. That’s when I stumbled across cold plunging. I wasn’t expecting much. But after that first plunge, something in me just... released. It was like a pressure valve had been opened. I walked away from that session lighter—physically, mentally, emotionally.

It was the first time in months I felt like I could breathe.

At the same time, I’d been dealing with chronic back pain—months of physical therapy hadn’t made much of a difference. But as I kept doing sauna and cold plunge therapy regularly, the pain started to ease up. The tension that lived in my shoulders and lower back started disappearing. I could move more freely. I was sleeping better. And I wasn’t holding everything in my body the way I used to.

Glenn started plunging after work and had his own breakthrough. Instead of coming home stressed and mentally checked out, he started walking through the door calm, present, and ready to actually enjoy time with our family. Even those little aches in his knees and back—things he just thought were part of getting older—started fading. The more consistent he was, the better he felt.

Naturally, we got curious about the science behind all this. We started researching the benefits of combining heat, cold, and rest—what’s called contrast therapy. The studies were pretty wild: reduced cortisol, better sleep, more dopamine, fewer aches, sharper focus, and real improvements in mental health. The hot-cold-rest-repeat cycle wasn’t just relaxing—it was resetting.

We started building it into our routines. Some mornings, I’d sneak out for a session before the kids were up. Other times, Glenn would grab a sauna and cold plunge after bedtime. And at least once or twice a week, we’d make time to do it together. Just the two of us—no phones, no chaos, no distractions. It became our way to reconnect. To check in with ourselves and each other.

And we started thinking—if this is helping us this much, why aren’t more people doing it?

That’s how SWEATSCAPE was born—College Station’s first dedicated contrast therapy studio.

We created a space that feels like what we needed back then: somewhere to slow down, breathe deeper, and remember what it feels like to feel good in your body and mind again.

SWEATSCAPE is for people who carry a lot—for the busy moms, the burned-out professionals, the nurses, the fitness lovers, the overthinkers, the under-sleepers.

It’s not just about heat and cold. It’s about giving yourself a break. A real one. With guidance, support, and a team that actually sees you.

We hope SWEATSCAPE becomes what it’s been for us—a breath of calm in a chaotic world. If you’re curious, we invite you to come in, take a breath, and begin your own reset.
